Laser treatment is extremely popular today, to prevent deterioration in eye condition and occasionally to cure it.

Moisture Problems:

Environmental variables like humidity and temperature levels can affect eye surgery results, surgery instruments and increases the number of people who need follow-up procedures.

Research shows that eye surgeries performed in the hottest and most humid months (typically, July, August, and September) require more corrective procedures later, when compared to surgeries done during other months. Uncontrolled humidity in the laser surgery rooms lead to various problems like:

  • “Laser” strength reduced: Moisture in the air decrease the laser energy absorbed by the stroma, the thickest layer of tissue in the cornea.
  • Also, some patients’ corneas may become more hydrated before the procedure, making it more difficult for the laser to remove tissue.
  • Higher the humidity, lesser the affect of the laser.

A 10% increase in treatment room humidity meant an additional nine (9) out of every 100 patients require an enhancement procedure.

To avoid these problems, the relative humidity inside the eye surgery rooms should be maintained around 40% RH at 20°C (68°F). Laser manufacturers generally recommend that the humidity in the laser room be maintained between 30 to 40% at 18 to 24°C (64-75°F).

Bry-Air Solution:

Bry-Air’s recommendation is to install a Bry-Air Desiccant Dehumidifier in conjunction with an air-conditioner to maintain the ideal environmental conditions critical for Laser eye surgery. Bry-Air Dehumidifiers offer the simplest and most cost-effective solution to moisture/ humidity control in eye surgery rooms. Also, unlike Refrigeration Dryer, there is no water collection in Bry-Air Dehumidifier, where water collection, also affects the laser.

Instrumentation Rooms

High precision electronic, processing, analytical and scientific instruments require precisely controlled temperature, humidity and dust free environment. Uncontrolled humidity can cause microscopic corrosion leading to malfunction / failure of the instruments.

All microprocessor based or other sophisticated instrumentation which require a controlled environment for proper functioning can be categorized as under:

  • Analytical and scientific Instruments (Including optical, environmental, nuclear, vacuum and cryogenic)
  • Medical Equipment (Including electromedical instruments).
  • Process control instruments.
  • Testing and measuring instruments (electrical and electronic)
  • Geo-scientific instruments.
  • Electronic instruments

Humidity control in Instrumentation rooms is necessary to:

  • Prevent Corrosion
  • Prevent condensation on work surfaces
  • Reduce static electricity
  • Prevent product contamination

Bry-Air Dehumidifiers offer the simplest and most cost-effective solution to moisture / humidity control in Instrumentation Rooms. For more details visit us at
