Sonali Dutta, Vice President – Corporate Affairs & HR, Bry-Air (Asia), emphasised on adapting and moving forward with optimism and energy. “During the lockdown and phased openings, one thing we all learned was that to move ahead, all the teams had to work in tandem and more importantly understand that every contribution counted,” she said.
Claiming that the team members became more connected while remaining distant, Sonali Dutta said, “The world has seen a lot of uncertainty in the last few months and will continue to do so and thus, it is necessary for all of us to quickly orient ourselves to the new reality and adapt accordingly.”

According to Dutta, policies can be rolled out centrally, but ethos has to be transferred through guidance and handholding. She calls for building continuous emotional connect and said, “It is imperative that every team leader along with the senior management handhold their team members to learn new skills and get doing their job.”
The organisation started the journey of digitalization sometime last year and has taken the current disruption as an opportunity to fasten the pace by adopting more collaborative tools, upgrading IT infrastructure, and improving connectivity.
Speaking on the challenges faced during the Covid-19 pandemic, Dutta said the organisation infused traits of trust, empathy, and resilience to tackle the same. Furthermore, the safety measurements had been taken care of with regular and continuous audits and our employees had a large role to play.
“During the lockdown and post that, at every level going up to right at the top, each worker has been personally monitored for their health and all norms are strictly maintained. We have conducted numerous trainings at the shop floor, of the safety norms and have a stringent audit system for all employees,” she said.
