Bata India, a part of Bata Shoe Organization, is India’s largest footwear retailer and a prominent manufacturer. Originally established in 1931 as Bata Shoe Company Private Limited, the company commenced its operations as a small venture in Konnagar, close to Calcutta, the following year.
