Bry-Air, the leaders in Dehumidification … worldwide, is a global solution provider having over 50 years of experience in air treatment and dehumidification. It has strong presence in the Indian sub-continent and is the leading state-of-the-art manufacturer of Gas Phase Filtration (GPF) Systems in India since last 15 years and known for setting new benchmarks. The strong research & development and testing facilities located at the GPF lab in Gurgaon are testimonial to the continuous growth and success.
Based on this legacy across the globe and country and intrinsic R&D strength, BRY-Air is proud to introduce yet another revolutionizing product solution, Atmospheric Corrosivity Monitor (ACM), which will enable measure corrosion with ease and accuracy in the environment.
Why do we need to measure atmospheric corrosion and reactivity rate?
Environment with higher atmospheric and air contamination require greater attention to air quality management. The interactive result of temperature variations and humidity with the gaseous contaminants has the potential to increase the threat of air corrosion, providing greater reasons for close monitoring of the immediate environment of IT infrastructure. All companies dealing with sensitive IT infrastructure, as a core part of its operations, need to implement a comprehensive checking and monitoring mechanism for the corrosion potential of the gases inside their facility. The ISA standards define or characterize environments in terms of their overall corrosion potential.
Bry-Air Atmospheric Corrosivity Monitor (ACM) diagnoses the corrosion of these environment according to the ISA Standard 71.04-2013 outlining severity of corrosion from G1 (mild) to GX (severe) environment. Reactivity monitoring can be used to characterise the destructive potential of an environment. Measurement of thickness of corrosion film provides an excellent indication of the type(s) and level(s) of all corrosive gases present in the local environment.
Copper reactivity level (Å)*
Silver reactivity level (Å)*
Both copper and silver reactivity levels is used for environmental monitoring with the higher of the copper and silver corrosion rates determining the overall severity level.
Severity level G1
Mild-An environment sufficiently well controlled such that corrosion is not a factor in determining equipment reliability.
Severity level G2
Moderate – An environment in which the effects of corrosion are measurable and may be a factor in determining equipment reliability.
Severity level G3
Harsh -An environment in which there is a high probability that corrosive attack will occur. These harsh levels should prompt further evaluation, resulting in environmental controls or specially designed and packaged equipment.
Severity level GX
Severe -An environment in which only specially designed and packaged equipment would be expected to survive.
Based on the proven Quartz Crystal Micro balance (QCM) technology in which frequency output changes due to change of weight. Stable digital output not prone to drifts or errors and can be easily processed
Sensor usable range
0-4000 Angstroms (nominal range under ideal conditions)
Reactivity Levels in Angstroms -As per ISA 71.04-2013 Std.
ISA Category levels G1 ,G2,G3,GX based on film thickness built-up.
Cumulative value-Indicates sensor life remaining
Analog: 4 Nos 4-20mA outputs
Digital: Isolated RS485 MODBUS port
USB port for easy connection to any PC or Laptop
The unit utilizes copper and silver coated quartz crystal microbalances and measures the weight gain as a consequence of corrosion built up on the metal surfaces. The weight gain is translated to film thickness and the corresponding corrosivity classification level.
Provides a qualitative and quantitative measure of the overall corrosion potential of an environment
Copper and Silver sensors
Sensor life 4000 Å
Inbuilt Temperature and Humidity sensor
Latest QCM technology
USB port for hassle free linking to any PC or Laptop
Data logging to internal computer storage and removable SD card
Optional Alarm relay outputs
Corrosion Classification as per ISA 71.04-2013 standards and custom levels
Incremental and Cumulative corrosion data
Accuracy better than 1%
Differential pressure transmitter input or optional built-in pressure sensor
RS485 port for BMS, PLC, SCADA, etc.
PC-based software for configuration and information
Four programmable 4-20mA analogue outputs
One analogue input to field power for connection to an external pressure transmitter
The atmospheric corrosivity monitor model BCM232 measures the overall reactivity levels of gaseous airborne contaminants present, as well as the room temperature, relative humidity, and optionally the differential pressure. It offers real-time information on the LCD, logged to internal computer storage and SD card and also transferred to Building Management Systems through Digital RS485 port or analog 4-20mA output. Reactivity Monitoring provides an exact and dependable way to evaluate the corrsivity potential of indoor air and also the effectiveness of installed filter systems.
The unit should be installed in a clean and dry environment free from excess vibration within the region to be supervised. The monitor is wall mounted and fixed with four screws, ensure that mounting height is appropriate for easy viewing and operation of the keyboard.
