APPLICATION: Indoor Swimming Pools
FFPs - Frequently Faced Problems

High humidity caused due to the evaporation of pool water leads condensation and this results in corrosion of metal and mold, mildew, fungus growth, wood rot and deterioration of windows, lights, furniture etc. in indoor swimming pools. It also creates highly uncomfortable atmosphere for swimmers.

General Recommendation :

The relative humidity in the Indoor Swimming Pools should be maintained at 50± 5% at about 26° C during winters and 23° C during summers.

Our Solution :

Conventional Method

Conventional pool ventilation systems attempt to control humidity in a room by removing a portion of the high moisture content air and bringing in less humid air. All the money spent to heat the pool water and maintain the rooms air temperature is simply discharged outside. In addition, the dry air brought in from outside must be conditioned (heated in winter or cooled in summer created additional operating costs). Since the absolute humidity outdoors is continually changing, a ventilation system alone cannot control humidity in the room. During the winter it brings in too much cold dry air and in summer it brings in air containing more humidity than the inside air that is being replaced.

Bry-Air Solution

The primary advantage of a desiccant dehumidification system is its ability to dry air to a very low humidity levels. A desiccant dehumidification system can very easily maintain 50±5 % relative humidity within the indoor swimming thus, eliminating humidity problems year round, regardless of outdoor weather conditions. According to the studies, conducted by ASHRAE and several manufacturers of desiccant systems, the average energy consumption of a desiccant dehumidifier is as much as 70% less than that of a comparable refrigeration system. So, desiccant dehumidification systems can eliminate condensation while, at the same time, reducing operating costs. There is also the potential for a reduction in maintenance to the building and equipment inside as it is no longer subject to excessive humidity and the problems associated with it.
