Paper
is normally received at the printing press in moisture proof
wrappers. However when the reams are unpacked and exposed to
temperatures substantially below the ambient temperature, the
paper begins to absorb moisture from the surrounding air. This
causes expansion, waviness and curling of paper resulting in
misregister and creases during printing. Moisture also delays
the drying of inks, leading to smudging and set off.
Variation in moisture level during plate making affects the
light sensitivity of the coating leading to variation in dot
density.
Bry-Air dehumidifiers lower the Relative Humidity to the desired
level, thereby ensuring consistent high quality printing.
